Woodgate Telephone Exchange is located on
Hagley Road West, Quinton, Birmingham. This exchange serves Quinton and Woodgate Valley.
Woodgate was previously known as Quinton, but the name had to be changed for auto working
as this clashed with 'O' for the Operator.
As with many smaller exchanges BT no longer
require all the available space. Here Exchange House, the front part of the
Quinton Telephone Exchange building, has been converted into both apartments and
office space. British Telecom continue to occupy part of the ground floor of the
building.
The telephone codes currently used are 0121-421,
0121-422 and 0121-423.
